International Planned Parenthood Federation, Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF/WHR) is looking for a part-time Data Associate based in our New York City office to support our Institutional Data and Organizational Learning and Evaluation teams. This position is instrumental for making institutional data processes more efficient, improving data quality, and making data more accessible through data visualization to support organizational learning, decision-making, and strategy development with the ultimate goal of improving access to services
Under the supervision of the Senior Evaluation Officer, and supporting two Data Analysts, the part-time Data Associate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Clean and review data
Write emails related to data cleaning processes in English and Spanish
Maintain and administer online course content
Manage and maintain database, some possible development
Copy and paste data into tables, formatting, developing graphs
Assemble IPPF/WHR institutional documents online for internal and external sources (ie, Redbook, MAAP feedback letters)
Develop power point presentations, graphs, and write-ups of trends in data
Administer email inboxes; ensure follow up for all emails
Support institutional data team with data collection, cleaning and analysis. Note-taking, graphing, basic analysis.
Generate and test reports from our online database; occasional data entry.
Develop data presentation and visualizations, using programs like Excel or Tableau.
Draft narratives and graphs.
Assist with Institution-wide annual and biannual surveys, including testing, data cleaning and follow up.
Support the production of the annual strategic plan progress report: data entry, graph and table creation, narrative writing, formatting.
Create graphs and interactive dashboards of IPPF/WHR’s various data sources using Tableau to ensure that staff can interact with and query the data in a user friendly way.
Provide Regional Office staff with information related to institutional data, as needed.
Working with Organizational Learning Officer to clean, format and assemble data for the annual Redbook and Feedback letter processes.
Provide support to the OLE department as needed.
Two years from a college, trade or technical school (Associate Degree)
At least one year prior work experience
Excellent Power point and Word processing skills
Comfort and familiarity with quantitative data
High level of proficiency with Excel for managing data, creating formulas, formatting tables, basic analysis
Experience with Excel or other tools for creating graphs and tables
Advanced written and spoken English and Spanish required
Skills in professional communications: written and oral
Commitment to IPPF/WHR’s mission and values
High attention to detail, being highly analytical and organized
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage time efficiently
Knowledge of and skills in data visualization programs
Experience with Stata, SPSS, pivot tables, data analysis
Data management, database maintenance and development skills (ideally SQL)
Understanding of Latin American and Caribbean regional context, particularly related to public health/sexual and reproductive health
