Public Relations Intern

Blake Zidell & Associates ( is a Brooklyn-based public relations firm that represents artists, arts organizations and institutions, and festivals spanning a variety of disciplines, including music, the performing arts and the visual arts. Clients include St. Ann’s Warehouse, The Kitchen, Soho Rep, PS 122, BRIC and The Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival, Nonesuch Records, the label Luaka Bop, Young Jean Lee, Abrons Arts Center, Kindness, National Sawdust, Chilly Gonzalez and others.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Interns at Blake Zidell & Associates engage in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of an arts public relations firm. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting staff, researching and updating contacts, collecting and archiving press clips for numerous publicity campaigns, assembling press kits, drafting of press materials, keeping campaigns organized and on schedule, and various administrative duties. Intern applicants should be highly motivated self-starters ready to balance numerous tasks in a small, but busy office environment. Strong communication skills and complete proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, as well as familiarity with Mac OS are required. An interest in contemporary performance would be ideal but not required.
