Designer for App launched by world-class Product and Engineer leads at Kriyate

We are working on a Mobile App in the Health and Wellness space and are looking for a smart team to realize our vision. The App will be entered in the Happiness Project competition.

We have defined the wireframes, workflows and pages in the app.
We are looking for someone who will play the role of Designer to realize our vision
a) define the look and feel of the app
– color scheme
– font typography
– icons etc.
b) create the visual elements of the app
– images of icons, buttons etc.

You will report to our Product Lead but will be working with our Developers and Engineering lead guy too

Required Skills/Qualifications:
Hands-on digital design skills
– Fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator or whatever photo editing software of your choice-
– Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 is a plus
– Prior experience working with products is a plus, though not required.

 

Compensation:

$200 for project

 

Time Period:

11/1-12/15, 5 – 10 hours per week

LEGO WeDo Robotics Educator for 92nd St Y

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of the Educational Outreach, a LEGO WeDo Robotics Educator in the Schools Partnership Program plans and implements in-class instruction for elementary students at 92Y’s partnership school: currently Yorkville Community School. 92nd Street Y Educational Outreach Center launched its STEAM programs in 2013 with Lego Robotics, a dynamic project-based learning program that uniquely combines STEM pedagogy with a creative arts curriculum for elementary school students. Over the course of the school year, students learned how to build and program simple LEGO models that are plugged into a computer. Their sets contained more than 150 elements, including a motor, motion and tilt sensors, and the LEGO USB Hub. Students carried out 12 theme-based activities.

 

Essential Functions:
Forms effective instructional partnership with classroom teachers and school administrators. Designs, executes and assesses instructional activities that incorporate the digital design into the common core curriculum and relate to the LEGO WeDo program.
Plans collaboratively with classroom teachers.
Participates in professional development workshops for teachers to effectively implement instruction.
Engages students in arts instruction with enthusiasm and expertise.
Writes and utilizes resource materials – to convey instructional and assessment goals for the year.
Writes other copy as needed, including lesson plans, student and program evaluations, and other planning documents.
Attends meetings and professional development with Schools Partnership Program faculty and Educational Outreach staff to plan, problem-solve, share, reflect and learn together.
Aids in evaluating the effectiveness of the partnership at a particular school.

 

Compensation:
